What is Score?
SCORE is a nationwide, nonprofit organization of experienced
business people who volunteer their time to help small and
start-up businesses succeed. The volunteer staff at SCORE
provide counseling assistance to small businesses with needs
such as:
How You Can Help
The Denver SCORE Chapter is looking for men and women with
significant business experience as owner and operator of a small
business or executive level experience with larger companies.
Volunteers to SCORE provide:

Counseling and mentoring to small companies
-
Counseling and mentoring to not-for-profit organizations
-
Business Check-up Plans
-
Presenting business topics at workshops and seminars
-
Coordinating special events such as trade shows, speaking
engagements, etc.

Developing SCORE marketing programs
-
Helping
to keep the SCORE organization running.
What SCORE expects from its volunteers
Volunteers agree to contribute at least 16 hours per month for
the activities described above. Volunteers are required to sign
a non-conflict of interest ethics code. Proprietary SCORE
training includes hands-on participation in SCORE counseling
sessions, in SCORE workshops, and in SCORE office management.
Training is typically completed within 90 days or less with the
acceptance of the candidate as an Accredited Score Counselor.
